Brungle is a small village in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains. Situated 20kms north of Tumut it has a relaxed rural lifestyle, with many great fishing locations.

History

Brungle Mission Station was established in 1888 by the Aborigines Protection Board. To learn about Brungle and its history, download the stories of 9 women Elders who tell of what life was like growing up on Brungle Mission. This booklet was part of a series designed to raise the profile of the unique historical experiences of Aboriginal women, and won the Cultural Heritage Award category of the Energy Australia National Trust Heritage Awards in 2005.
